Bankruptcy Court: Survival of the Fittest!

I survived the Trustee’s Meeting today. Survived, but still am dissatisfied with my counsel – It’s pretty sad when I seemingly know more about what’s going on than the guy I just paid $1500 to represent me to the Federal Bankruptcy Court.

The whole thing had me tied in knots, to be perfectly honest, and I’ve no idea why. Well, I guess I do know why: This woman had the power to completely ruin my life and the life of my children with one misguided, “Judge Judy” moment and I knew it! It sucks feeling that powerless. I’ve been there a few times in my life and I can tell you right now, I’d wish it on nobody.

But, it turned out she was very fair, smart and actually pretty nice. My portion of the event took like 5 minutes (maybe 10 but I doubt it!) and I have to email her some paperwork that my lawyer’s office botched

Hopefully the dreams of me and my kidlets sitting in the rain with only an umbrella, a suitcase and the clothes on our backs will stop now, eh?
